Central Clay Studio is a pottery studio in Plymouth, Michigan. We host one time & multi-week classes as well as workshops for all ages and skill levels.

Multi Week Kids Classes:

Kids Hand Building (Ages 8-13)
In this class your child will learn about all the possibilities of clay! Using techniques such as coil building, slab rolling, pinching, pulling, sculpture and more, they will expand their knowledge and creative skills.
This class usually runs on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4:45-6pm.
One Time Potter’s Wheel Night Out Classes:
Give it a spin! Looking for something fun and new to try? This one night class is great for a date night, friend hang, family night out or trying something new on your own. We supply everything. Only 6 people in the class.
Usually offered on Friday Evenings. Sometimes Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays.

6 Week Adult Pottery Classes:
Here is a selection of the 6 Week Adult Classes we offer regularly throughout the year. All pottery wheel classes are waitlisted. Beginner Handbuilding is generally open. If you’d like to join the 6 Week Potters Wheel Waitlist please click here for info.
Beginner Wheel
In the beginner wheel class you will be guided weekly through the process of creating pottery from start to finish. Throwing, Trimming, Adding Handles/Attachments, and Glazing. A great intro course for all things potter’s wheel!
This class usually runs on Tuesday & Thursday Evenings.
Intermediate Wheel
In this class you will take the basic knowledge you have learned in previous throwing courses to expand your skillset. This class is for potters who can already create basic forms on the wheel, but would like to learn new forms, surface decoration techniques, centering larger amounts of clay and more.
This class usually runs on Wednesday Evenings.
Beginner Hand Building
In this class you will learn about the possibilities of clay outside of the wheel! Using techniques such as coil building, slab rolling, pinching, pulling, sculpture and more, you will learn how to create forms and expand your knowledge of clay. The possibilities are endless!
This class usually runs on Wednesday Afternoons.
